Dear Malik

Dear Malik

I love you
And your salad
and the fact you are afraid of going pink
and that you wear sunglasses even though you can't see
and that you're good at organising
and torrent a lot
and sometimes take your hair down and it has a kink and you're upset by this fact
and that you like Ian but not Craig
and know everyone
and I mean everyone
and understand the importance of tumblr
and sometimes listen to music that is mainstream and feel guilty about doing so, but then at the same time enjoy it still
and decide to cull your genres and spend time organising all your music
and love me too ;_____;

Non-contact learning time

Let's be careful not to fool ourselves or others to think that the present two weeks are holidays.

I'm feeling very tired and more stressed than school terms. I have an economics revision course all this week, maths test today, psych test tomorrow and psych assignment due tomorrow, not to mention the huge fucking geography assignment deadline looming.

I know other people have lots of things to do too. I don't deny that, and I have no idea how people doing two revision courses this week etc are coping.

It's like being at school - but with out everyone there. It's... kinda lonely really.

Parent's want me to stay home this weekend. I guess I won't be seeing people for a couple of days & more revision to do next week.

I'm going to give blood tomorrow.

Feeling overwhelmed and unenthused,
Malik xx.

Lazy days

The last match of the roller derby season was on today, it was an afternoon match - I did not attend.

Instead I spent the day "wallowing in the bath" to quote my father. I read 90 pages of the book A Short History Of Tractors In Ukrainian which, has been on my to-do list for some time. I'm very much so enjoying it and would have spent the entire day reading it if I was not disrupted by parents who informed me that Jesse was coming over to pick up the stuff he left at Taylor's house over the weekend from formal. Ahh well.

So Jesse came and picked up his stuff, I went and made wraps for lunch, and I spent the afternoon sleeping. Highly Productive.

More photos are spilling on to the interwebs regarding Friday nights respective formals and other social activities. Photos suggest a fun-time was had by all. =]

I'm feeling like movie watching tonight. What to watch.. what to watch? I'll figure something out ~

Long time no post

  • Glenunga formal was last night.
  • Really glad I go to eynes, makes me appreciate it more.
  • Bought delicious magazine called juxtapos - makes me hot
  • Need pastal nail polish
  • Bought new havainas
  • Bring on the salad season~~
  • Pretentious music taste at parties is stupid, just drink and dance.
  • I make a lot of friends, there are also a lot of friendships i've lost. Don't dig this turn/over rate.
  • Must evenly tan this summer, and not burn. *Buys sunscreen*

Tea Parties and Rollercoaster Rides

Malik here, keeping my lurkers up to date with the weekend events. I've been officially creeped out at home many hits my myspace etc get. 350 page views in the last week. What the hell. I'm really -not- that interesting gaiz.

Today has been very SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL orientated, which is boring so I won't elaborate.
  • Geogrpahy test. Ridiculously easy.
  • Psych - Watched Videos
  • Wrote 1000 words towards Individual study for English.
Friday
  • I never got that Hamlet essay done in time. (err. shit.)
  • I met up with Traves after school, and later Olga, Clyde & Jesse - They were looking at suits for the Gleunga formal.
  • Had to rush home, get everything together & change to go to Lauren's 17th Birthday shindig.
Birthday Shindig Synopsis from Malik's perspective.
I was the most drunk there, Saints guys really are conservative, but nice. Jesse hooked up with Jack I consequently hooked up with Ella or more so rofled on her face. Sorry to Lauren for being friends with the liqueur cabinet. We watched a movie called one hour photo of something of that nature. Creepy. I shared Lauren's single bed with Roman (wtf?) and Kat and everyone are really nice and I smiled. Lauren was gorgeous and was wearing her sexy derby tee as her touch of ghetto. I like to dance.

Saturday:

  • Picked up form Lauren's, dropped Jesse & Jack home.
  • Changed showered / got shit together again. Went to the Royal Adelaide Show with guides. Didn't really get to see much, as I was on parcel minding duty  - slightly boring but glad I went, I see people like Ingrid when I'm there and  got to buy Jerky! :) Watched the fireworks and smiled. Then ma picked me up and took me to Kate/Bridget/Kirsten's Birthday Party.

Birthday Shindig Synopsis from Malik's perspective
I rocked up there late at about 10:30. Travis fucking makes me smile so hard. I love him to pieces. I got there and he was a little smashed and Georgina & Jade were there too, as well as all the usual Tim, Martin, Shaymus, Aaron, Tom etc. I'd missed a lot of stuff being late. Roman had been there & managed to upset Kate and was leaving just as I arrived. People were already trashed and shortly after I'd got there the cops turned up, but I was in the playground with Shay and Tom so I think it was all chill, they looked at the nos apparently and just kinda went is that legal? Balls kept trying to hug the police so he tells me.  I had a fucking great time and lol'd very hard and had teapots filled with goon / schnapps / tequila. I eventually passed out / crashed / fell asleep in the tent outside. Raff was nice enough to find me a sleeping bag, Cheeeeers! Georgina and Travis SHOULD CHANGE THEIR MYSPACE STATUS ALREADY. Tim should learn that iced coffee is not quite equal to water. I still am not a fan of mangoes. There were some really awesome photos to come out of this shindig.

Sunday
  • It had been raining over night, and it made it somewhat fun to get from tent to house in the morning. After the ordeal of waking. Traves, Georgina, Jade & I bussed to town.
  • Walking down twin street were the lucky spectators of a guy fucking a hooker in his car. Awesome. She then stumbled down twin street behind us. -awkward-
  • Hangover Cheeseburger's were purchased and then buses caught home.
  • Happy father's day Pa =]
  • Sunday Afternoon I spent recovering and loling at photo's / napping
So yeah. Boring. But I do this for me, not you, as such. When I'm old and feeble I'll remember the teapots~ or at least try to as I read about them.... or something..

oh side, last minute note. Romans a moral relativism douchebag. :D

Sincerely procrastinating,
Malik xx

  • Totes listening to more -rock- music lately. Odd.
  • Nachoes are epic.
  • Travish makes me lol so hard. <3
  • Lauren's 17th tomorrow *excited*
  • Need to catch up with people again, like denis, ryan, joe, rhiann, etc again.
*note to self, mass print travish-face-masks*

Happily procrastinating english essay,

Opportunities that present themselves.

Last night, I decided that I wanted a mountain bike for Christmas.

Being a myspace-addicted teenager, I added this to my self created "things I want for Christmas" section on my profile page:

I rock up at school today, and as I walk into the library foyer on break from psych, THERE IT IS;

HOW AMAZING WAS THAT.
OBVIOUSLY MOUNTAIN BIKE AND I ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER~~
IT'S A SIGN!!

Amazed,
Malik xx.

Wednesday is shoe day, not spaghetti day.

I really didn't want to go to school today. It's the theme of the week, I've woken up every day this week and told my mother that I didn't want to go to school. Every day after doing so I've then picked up my bag and gone.

This afternoon, mother calls me and tells me that "my sister is really sick at school and that i need to pick her up, as she is working the country today and can't"  (read: There is a shoe sale near my work, bludge eco, let's go shop). Oh the life lessons that she teaches me; It's okay to not go to school if it's for a shoe sale~

So after elaborate lies to my teachers, I bused to my mothers work. In the shopping mall next to her work, there was a little shoe store run by an old lady and her son. It'd had been there forever I swear,  but the lady wanted to retire, and the son wanted to take a different direction with his life, so TA DA. CLOSING DOWN SALE!!~~

All shoes $15. Wikid.

Here are some pics of my bargains:

Nothing that I consider truly amazing, but for $15 who can go wrong? I also ordered some red ballet flats from online on Saturday, not sure when they'll be here, but I'm happy.

In other news:
  • I ordered three Threadless tee's today.
  • My sister is not ill.
  • I'm now officially a metal head junkie (what?)
Confused as usual,
Malik xx.

:frenzy:

I feel overwhelmed by social circumstances as at now.
I try really hard to be nice, but I feel ridiculously bitchy.
I feel guilty I don't do more for people. I'm tired.

Chocolate, Lunch, Coffee & Conversation

I just wanted to make a note of how much I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the experience of going out for lunch with friends, or going out for coffee. I'd much rather bring my lunch 4 times a week, and go out for a more expensive nice meal once, than eat crap take away all the time.

Today Roman, Shay & I went to the Lemon & Lime on Gouger Street for lunch. Shay and Roman are both vegetarians and ordered Tofu / Vegetable and rice dishes, whilst I enjoyed a delicious chicken Singapore noodle dish (I love thin noodles). It was really nice to catch up with Roman too, it had been a while. Later in the afternoon after *cough* some homework *cough* we went to Cibo for coffee. We use our frees productively hey~

It's been rather Wintry lately, but today the sun was out, this cheered me greatly. I very much enjoy good weather and it was greatly enjoyable sitting outdoors in the sun, eating delicious food and smiling. I'm feeling much better than I was yesterday.

Food and eating seem to be a hobby of the students at Eynesbury. Lauren & I often find ourselves wandering down to Chocolat on a Friday afternoon and omnomnom-ing the afternoon away. Cheese and crackers, tapenade and focaccia, ice-cream & chocolate at school as well as going to the The Chocolate Bean and food court escapades with friends will definitely go down in history as highlights of my senior schooling.

Beef Stroganoff for dinner tonight, but I'm not feeling particularly hungry~

Smiling,
Malik xx.

Antistatic Reeldance Festival

I like to keep it simple;
  • The First screening of reeldance I couldn't go to because I had a guides meeting, but then parent and sister didn't want to go / drive.
  • No one wanted to go with me / was able to go with me tonight and going alone didn't sound appealing, esp when I would have had to bus it.
  • I don't like lurking, yet I still do it.
  • I think my laptops battery power should last longer.
  • I ran out of milk because I've drunk so much hot chocolate this weekend.
  • I still really like bruchetta a lot.
I'm kinda sad today.

The things you learn

I've never really believed myself to be exactly the most worldly or knowing lots about other cultures sort of person - that said, I'd like to think that I'm doing alright compared to a lot of people out there in the world.

I've spent the day with Matt, Sylvia & family and this has become rather apparent to me on a smaller, cross-suburb scale for a number of reasons;
  • Sylvia makes cake in a ~*convection/microwave*~ oven. What the fuck. (and it still takes the same amount of time!) This confused me greatly and caused me to freak out for a moment - I thought the metal cake tin would catch a light and burn her house down. It was a packet mix cake - and for the record who has a 2 cup measure cup measure?! I put in over double the amount of water we needed!  We were able to rescue it though :)
  • We went to Loui's (Cat's new horse's) stable, just north of Semaphore. I know -nothing- about horses. In fact; I find them incredibly intimidating. There are whole other world's out there! Horse loving, shit-shoveling, outdoorsy people! Where did they come from?! I'm such a city kid.

  • I also learned about fishing enthusiasts today. Greg, Sylvia's dad got up at 3 am to go out fishing with a mate of his, however, Matt and I are convinced that this "fishing trip" was just a cover for what really is a secret money laundering embargo of the Uniting Church, as well as a convenient way to dispose of all the victims of the mafia he is so obviously in association with. And on the side of that, he's got the penguins smuggling cocaine in little plastic bags for him, that he fishes up. But I mean, we're so obviously on to him, and he's not very good at keeping up his cover. I mean he didn't even manage to catch any fish to bring home today!

  • Greg is a reverend and Siz comes from a very Churchy family. They used to live in Uraidla and he was the reverend at the church there for quite some time. I mentioned that I knew a guy from Uraidla that I had gone to school with (Yes, it's Adelaide folks) and that he lived next to a church, and that when it went up for sale his parents had bought it. I went to his house for his birthday some time a go now and watched movies projected on to the churches wall and all sorts. They converted it into a sort of rumpus room, pretty awesome (a++). Turns out that Greg used to be the revered at -that- church. Adelaide, SMALLER EVERYDAY.
Enlightened,
Malik

Friday's in the Mall~

You are guaranteed to run into many people you know on a Friday in Rundle Mall. This is a well known fact of life - when you live in Adelaide.
But apart from these almost scheduled, chance reunions, other bizarre shit happens there too;

  • ABBA gets blared to all the shoppers from the centre of the mall.
  • The White Statue Man always moves. I've never seen him, ever, still as a statue.
  • Huddled from the rain, under a gazebo, Travis, Jesse, Greg & I were accosted by a rather drunk individual. Prior to the accosting, she had been walking down the mall with flowers and a bottle of newly purchased booze. She managed to drop the bottle and it smashed upon impact with the ground. She swore, then kind of chuckled. And pointed to the daffodil day stall that was blasting ABBA music near us, then supposedly talking to someone and making eye contact. She walked up to the gazebo, pointing and laughing in that general direction, then began seductively hiding behind the gazebo post, and beckoning whom ever was over there towards her. Then she came over to the four of us, who stood perplexed and confused. She said to us in a celebratory tone that she got the job! What job that was, we had no idea, but she sported a daffodil day flower on her collar and we assumed she was in association with them, as she kept pointing to it. She informed me that I should never let men screw me over and that I - Hell i can't even really remember. I do recall however that she said she had 3 children, the oldest of which was 12, she was supposedly only 24. What the fuck. She also said "Ahh kid's they grow up so fast you just want to have more and more of them and pop them out" or at least words to that effect, making pregnant stomach motions with her hands all the while. She kept hi-fiving me and holding my hand. She was warm with booze. Travis and Jesse turned away and she made comment on this. Ask Travis he could tell you. Eventually she left us, shaking my hand once more.

The experience with the drunk-bottle-dropper was very bizarre and we shuffled east down the mall looking to escape her awkward glances back at us. We ran into Felicia and Jenifer (see what I mean.. ) and at this point we were in hysterics laughing and crying and trying to establish what the fuck had just happened to us. They soon left, and the barrage of other acquaintances ensued. We did not manage to move more than 50m in an hour with out being stopped.

Hoping to leave you with just a small snap-shot of an afternoon in the Mall,
Malik xx.

Dearest Diary,

Today I learned that I have been living under a very large rock. Reasons for this include;
  • I only just realised that apple bottom is a brand of Jeans
  • I had only heard the song "Get Low" which mentions such apple bottom jeans in their lyrics on the first of August at my year 12 formal, where everyone suddenly sprung to the dance floor to get low with the lyrics.
I was comfortable under my rock,
Malik xx.

A side of bruccheta and pizza with artechoke please, a vanilla cap to go.

I enjoy so very many things in life. A couple of things that I have enjoyed through out the day include;
  • Sleeping in.
  • Psychology -  as per normal it was filled with much sexual innuendo, and the in-jokes were somewhat plentiful.
  • Alex wearing a beanie. Just think Po from Kung Fu Panda.
  • Seeing our new chic principal hi five people
  • Going out for dinner with my mother and sister - Let's just say my younger sister told my ma that her and her boyfriend are now "banging" Lols and face-palming proceeded this announcement. Ma's pretty chill with this sorta thing. I chuckled.

Jesse made the point to set a topic for his blog, a theme. Pretty much I just intend to blog about the "shits and giggles" of my life.

I'll find a more eloquent way to say that and attempt to find a witty title I guess.

Enough for now,
Malik xx.
